I began my career as a physiotherapist in New Zealand. I subsequently completed my degree with a distinction that earned me a Kellogg's Scholarship. I was subsequently selected for their specialist, post-graduate diploma (Masters level) whilst working in Perth, Western Australia, before travelling on to the UK for bigger challenges.
I was a member of Round Table holding several positions and enjoyed a 5 year stint in the arm forces as a soldier and a paramedic, including as a trooper in the UK, Special Forces. This has left me with a love of the outdoors, discovery and efficiency to a high level, the intuition to be innovative and the desire to accommodate inclusiveness amongst the people I meet - hearts and minds.
After a successful previous career I retrained in UX Design, working in the London region for more than seven years, yet still growing and willing to learn more about this fascinating career . My previous professional skills - collaborating with fellow professionals in multidisciplinary teams, daily problem solving issues with patients, teaching juniors and presentation skills were valuable transferable assets.
My interest in UX and product design has been captured by the discovery and problem solving process, translating solutions with creative innovation and validating these with user testing and iteration. Along with the technology these all have a human being at their end point. I guess its the love for user centred design that's so attractive to me.
